Underwater Tutorial

List management becomes very important with any painting that contains more than five floaters.  Almost everyone can remember 5 things but add a 6th and loss of time begins to mount up when we select the wrong floater to work on.  Do this 15 or 20 times and you can see how it would be easy to lose valuable production time on any large project.  I try to make it easy for myself by naming all floaters or layers.  While doing this I also developed the habit of pressing Ctrl + S to save my work.  At first it wasn’t easy because I was so caught up in my painting.  After losing a few major elements due to system crashes I began this procedure began in earnest.
Go to the Brushes (8) palette.  Select the Image Hose Brush. Click on Nozzle/Nozzles… or press Ctrl + 9 (8a). The Brush Controls:Nozzle palette will open.

In the Brush Controls:Nozzle (9) palette click on the Purple bar with the upside down triangle in the middle of it.  The palette opens so you can preview up to 15 more nozzle icons. Click on the word Hands in the Nozzle Popup window.  A menu appears listing the nozzles contained in the library.  At the bottom of the list are the words Load Library (10).  Click on it and the Open (11) dialog box appears.  Go to your CD drive or to the drive you copied the Und_water.NZL file to.  Select it and click Open to load the file.
