P_6 Summer Landscape painting

Almost all of the nozzles used in this tutorial are custom made.  You can substitute the nozzles contained on the Painter6 CD to complete the tutorial. The most important thing you gain from completion of this exercise is a realization of how powerful the tools and techniques are.  By following these steps and applying them to your other projects, you will continue to build the confidence and experience necessary to become successful in your Painter projects.

Open a new file at 600 X 600 at 72 DPI.  Please remember to save your file often.

Press the ‘R’ key to access the Rectangular Selection tool.  Drag a selection almost half-way down the canvas. I used the new KPT 6 SkyEffects filter to create the sky.  This selection is where the filter effects will take place, not on the entire canvas.  For those who don’t have KPT 6, you can use the Airbrush and the Just Add Water brush to create a very nice sky.  To add clouds, use the Image Hose and choose the Cumulus Clouds nozzle.  When your sky is finished, press the ‘F’ key to access the Layer Adjuster tool. Click once on the selection to turn it into a layer.  In the Objects palette, Layers section, double click on Layer 1 (1).  When the Layers Attributes dialog box appears (2), type the word Sky to rename the layer.   My sky looks like this (3).
