CD Label Tutorial

Use the same techniques to adjust the rest of the labels text.  Use the Ruler Guide Lines for alignment purposes during the final placement of your text layers.  When you are done you should have something that looks like this (18).

Open a new file at 400X 300 PPI, with a Blue background.  Press the T key to access the Text tool.  In the Controls:Text palette (19).  Click on Font > Other Font.  Select an Outline style font.  I chose to use Heavenetical Bold Outline.  Type the word disc.  Select the Layer Adjuster tool.  Drag around the dot on the top of the i to select it and press the Backspace key to delete it

Switch back to the Text tool.  Change the font to Arial Black, the Point Size to 10, the Tracking to 0.200, and type the word COMPACT.  In the Objects > Layers section, group the Text Shapes and Collapse them.  Move the layer so it sits slightly above the isc in disc.  Change the Point Size to 10, the Tracking to 0.225, and type the words DATA STORAGE.  Group and Collapse them and place them slightly below the word disc.   Press the H key to access the Shape Selection tool (20), select the top of the d (21) and move it up even with the top of the word COMPACT (22).  Select all the text, Group and Collapse them into a single layer.
