CD Label Tutorial

Press the F key and click once inside the Marching Ants.  You have created a Layer Floating Object that is actually floating on the existing parent layer.  In the Objects palette Layers section, click on the section icon (upside down gray triangle) or click on the word Layers to expand the palette.  This new layer appears as a sub set (floating objects) of the parent layer and has a star in front of it (8).  Select this layer and press the Delete button.  You image will look like this (9).  Save the file as CD_2.

On the program task bar click on Canvas > Rulers > Hide Rulers.  Maximize the file with the background layer.  Select the layer with the Layer Adjuster tool and drag it into the already open CD window.  Select the CD layer, in the Controls:Adjuster palette move the Opacity slider to read 50%.  Re-select the background layer, click on the Back button to move the layer next to the canvas.  You can adjust the background now if you need to.  To merge this layer with the canvas go to the Layers section press the Drop button.  You should have something that looks like this (10). Reselect the CD layer and move the Opacity slider to 0%.
