| Press the F key and click once inside the Marching
Ants. You have created a Layer
Floating Object that is actually floating on the existing
parent layer. In the Objects
palette Layers section, click on the section icon (upside down
gray triangle) or click on the word Layers to expand the palette.
This new layer appears as a sub set (floating objects) of the parent layer and has a
star in front of it (8).
Select this layer and press the Delete button.
You image will look like this (9).
Save the file as CD_2. |

On the program task bar click on Canvas
> Rulers > Hide Rulers.
Maximize the file with the background layer.
Select the layer with the Layer Adjuster tool and drag it
into the already open CD window. Select
the CD layer, in the Controls:Adjuster palette move the Opacity
slider to read 50%. Re-select
the background layer, click on the Back button to move the layer
next to the canvas. You can
adjust the background now if you need to.
To merge this layer with the canvas go to the Layers section
press the Drop button. You
should have something that looks like this (10).
Reselect the CD layer and move the Opacity slider to 0%.
